The
condo is GREAT. We absolutely love it. No
real bad surprises as we were fixing it to our liking. We
spent
the entire month of January cleaning, painting, stripping wallpaper,
and doing miscellaneous things. We ended up doing more than
we
planned, but it was worth it. I'll attach a picture of Jim in
the
redone living room. It was rented out for the first time this
past weekend. We both enjoyed the "work". We would
get up,
bring our mugs of coffee, and pack a lunch; it was like going to a job
every day!
We
are still at Port Royal for the rest of the month.
If it isn't rented the few days after 3/2 (our last day here), we will
spend a few days at Sandcastle -- as long as we're out of town by
Spring Break! We already can't wait til next year to be in
our
own place.
We
didn't paint the green cabinets. I'm going to do
some research, and that will probably be a job for next year.
I
didn't want us to have to rush and not do the job we wanted.
We
painted the walls a golden yellow, and somehow that softened the green
a little.
We're
both very pleased with our unit and the management and
staff at Sandcastle.

Letter of Recommendation regarding Betsy Churgai
I would like to share my experience regarding Betsy’s realty
skills in assisting our family at a very traumatic time. We had an
unexpected death of our son-in-law, leaving his thirty-five year-old
wife (our daughter) and a twelve year-old son behind. Betsy was
recommended to us by a close friend of our deceased son-in-law and she
was a godsend! Because everything happened so suddenly, there were so
many details to take care of we were drowning in all the work that
needed to be done.
Betsy was able to grasp our situation and assess what our true needs
were in order to sell off property that was no longer needed. She gave
us her best advice as to what strategies to use in selling and always
looked out for the best interest of our son-in-law’s family.
Betsy not only gave us good advice but assisted us personally in every
detail in selling the property. In my opinion, she went above and
beyond the call of “duty”.
This outstanding work included: dealing with local workers who were to
keep up the property while it was in “limbo”;
assisting us
in necessary repairs for the house, including getting estimates and
overseeing the work was done properly: strategizing with us to get the
best deal out of the property; executing the sale of the property:
babysitting all the details that went with transferring the property
over to the new owners, and stamping out all the brush fires that
inevitably appear during a sales transaction. The amazing thing is we
NEVER met Betsy in person. She dealt with all this long distance, as
our daughter and grandson were now living in another state and we lived
in Washington state.
This was two and a half years ago and I STILL remember the professional
way Betsy assisted our family when all was in chaos and in need of
calm, helpful professionals who could execute the work that needed to
be done flawlessly. Betsy Churgai fit that description to a
“T”.
A word to the wise, if you need a realtor, Betsy is the BEST. I would
not hesitate to employ her services again if we ever had the need. To
paraphrase: “You are in good hands with Betsy
Churgai”!

My husband and I were grateful to have the professional expertise of
Betsy Churgai, Island Associates, in our quest to search for and buy a
new house with little time available to us. I chose her
because
she has had many years experience in this field, and she gratefully
answered all our questions and addressed our worries. Even
though
we went a little outside the "norm" on a few points of the paperwork
and closing process, we were able to close on our home in only 3 weeks,
3 days, regardless. We plan to use her services again in the
near
future to sell our old home in Port Aransas. We trust she's
got
our best interest in mind, and is knowledgeable about the selling
process, as well.

During
2005, Betsy Churgai handled all aspects of
the sale
of my home in Port Aransas.
She
gave me helpful suggestion on what to do to
the house to
make it more marketable and walked through the steps she would take to
sell
it.
Several offers for purchase
were
received, and she pointed out both the good and less desirable aspects
of each
offer, giving me the benefit of her experience while I considered them. Betsy
showed the
house numerous times and did all in her power to sell it at a price
agreeable
to me.
Once the offer I accepted was
negotiated, during which she made several suggestions that would result
in my
receiving the best deal, Betsy explained the closing and funding
process to
me.
